Internet Marketing Made Easy

Yesterday Afternoon I sat down at my PC to write another article to post on my Blog and I decided to do a search of Social Media Marketing which is the topic I’ve been concentrating on for the past couple of weeks.

I typed “The Advantages of Social Media Marketing” into the Google search window and hit search. Much to my surprise and amazement when I checked the results there I was number two on the list on the first page right below Scholarly Articles.

I scrolled further down the page and there I was again, number eight on the first page. I was very happy about the results to say the least. Being so highly ranked on Google makes it all seem worthwhile.

All the hours spent at the keyboard pumping out Articles and sometimes wondering if anyone reads them or learns anything from them and then to have Google answer those two questions for me was a satisfying moment.

Feeling pretty pleased with myself I decided to do another search but this time for “Social Media Marketing Techniques” and this time I was ranked number seven on the first page. I decided to stop after that and not press my luck.

When I told my wife she was happier than I was which made it that much more special. Because she knows the effort I put into my Blog on a daily basis and she was so pleased that I was finally rewarded for it.

With 200 million searches per day Google is now a $150 billion company and a seemingly unstoppable corporate juggernaut and is the place to be ranked if you want to be successful online. Google is simply a tool to help find information and is just an extended information warehouse.

It is far and away the best search engine out there and given that Google is so dominant, it’s easy to understand why so many Internet Marketers want to be seen on the first page of a search.

With Google being so vital to the web, whatever stance it takes on any type of online policy has massive implications for the rest of the web, and for other search engines in particular.

I believe from my experience the two major factors which determine your ranking on Google are first and foremost having very good content that people are interested in and want to link to. Of course if you’ve been online for any length of time whatsoever I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “Content is King”.

Needless to say I’m a firm believer in this and I guess this belief is starting to pay off. Also having keyword rich Articles is also a big help but not to the extent that these words are hampering the flow and meaning of the message you’re trying to get across.
