Before we move on to today’s topic I just wanted to finish up where we left off yesterday. We were talking about Robin Sharma’s book “The Greatness Guide” and the the “Four F Syndrome or why people resist change and don’t even try to improve their situation when the opportunity comes along.
We discussed the first two F’s which are Fear and Failure. The third F is “Forgetting”. When we leave the Self Help seminar reality sets in and we have a lot of everyday difficult situations to deal with at work and at home and we forget what we learned at the seminar.
He says a “key to success” is to keep your commitments top of mind. Heighten your awareness around them. Better awareness-Better choices. Better choices-Better results. Keep your self promises front and center, don’t forget them.
Put them on a 3 x 5 inch card that you post on your bathroom mirror so they’re the first thing you see every morning. He says it seems silly but it works beautifully. Talk about them a lot. Write about them in your journal.
The fourth and final F stands for “Faith”. Too many people have no faith, he says. They are cynical. “This leadership training stuff doesn’t work.” Or “I’m too old to change.” Cynicism stems from disappointment. Cynical and faithless people weren’t always like that.
They tried and perhaps failed and instead of realizing that failure is just a part of success removed themselves from the game and grew cynical. Thier way to avoid getting hurt again.
So there you go the four F’s of why we resist transformation and showing real leadership in our lives. Sharma says understand them and you can manage and overcome them. Because awareness really does precede success. He says we truly can get to greatness and will we know for sure if we don’t even try.

Social Media Marketing is a modified term of conventional Product and Service Marketing. Social marketing is not about advertising, at least not advertising on its own. It is the art of getting others to talk about your brand or products. Social marketing is the future so learning to get it right is very important.
It’s about finding your customers where they are. Social marketing is not simply buying a banner ad campaign that runs on a social network. It uses marketing techniques to generate discussion and promote information, attitudes, values and behaviors. The benefits of marketing in this way are far too numerous to ignore.
