How To Generate Traffic To Your Website On A Shoestring Budget
Hi everyone! With this being only the second day managing this BLOG, I thought I would tell you a liitle bit about what’s happening in my life at the moment before I get into “Generating Traffic On A Shoestring Budget”.
I’m working from home full time now. As I mentioned yesterday in the About My Site section, above, I was looking for a career change after nearly twenty years in so called “traditional sales and marketing” so I thought I would take that experience and apply it to Internet Marketing. I’ve been looking for an opportunity online for several years now and I finally decided to go for it and make my own opportunity.
The biggest challenge I find with working from home is being alone at home for eight hours a day in front of the computer when you’re used to being with people all day long in an office environment. It takes some getting used to but I’m very excited about this new venture and that more than makes up for it. Also I get to cook supper every day for my wife which is a nice change too because I love to cook.
Another challenge is developing the discipline to ignore the distractions which are inevitable working from your home environment. The telephone, with friends calling, the television and the French Open tennis tournament and the beautiful weather outside and the temptation of going for a nice drive with the car being only a few feet away. These are a few of the things you have to overcome and I have to say I’m doing pretty well so far because knowing that the bills still have to be paid at the end of the month is a great motivator to keep your nose to the grindstone.
I’ll speak a little more about this tomorrow and some other challenges I’m facing at the moment and how I’m dealing with those but now let’s get to “Generating Traffic on A Shoe String Budget”.
If you are new to marketing online or network marketing and don’t have a large budget to play with, there are many low cost or no cost alternatives to help generate traffic to your website.

Social Networking has become another popular and free method to promote your business. Be careful when using this method not to break the rules of your social networking site. If used correctly, this method can provide increased traffic to your website.
Search Engine Optimization is perhaps the most important online marketing method you can use to promote your website. By learning a few search engine optimization techniques you will be able to do much of this yourself and enjoy the benefits of search engine optimization free of charge. Most people use search engines to find what they are looking for online. So if your website is correctly optimized you will be seen by a lot more people, which should convert into a lot more sales.
Free Classified Advertising websites are also a good way to get your business seen by many more online consumers. Many of these classified ad sites allow you to post your ad free of charge in order to increase traffic to their site. Again, try to make your ad search engine friendly and it may also be picked up by some of the top search engines online today.
